Event Coordinating!
i. Honors College
Whereas my duties as a 1913 Presidential Ambassador and as an Honors College Ambassador allow me to serve as the welcoming face for events, I also have the opportunity to manage the behind-the-scenes logistics as an External Relations Assistant for the Honors College. Our largest events include the Founders Lecture and the Fall and Spring Graduation ceremonies, ranging from 100 to 300 attendees. My responsibilities include event registration, guest management, catering, decorations, and the occasional flower arranging (my favorite!). I also added a certificate in Event Management from the Robinson
College of Business at Georgia State.
ii. Georgia State Undergraduate Research Conference (GSURC)
Motivated by my passion for event planning and education, I have served on the GSURC Student Planning Committee for the past three years. Much of these responsibilities are shared with my responsibilities as an External Relations assistant for the Honors College as the college spearheads the conference. From managing 170 student proposals and abstracts to assigning 300 judges and volunteers, this large-scale operation begins in November to prepare for the big day held in the beginning of April.
