GEORGIA STATE UNIVERISITY

Find yourself a university that makes you as happy as getting a free King Of Pops Chai Tea popsicle. (And boy, does my face say it all).

ATLANTA - Home of King Of Pops, Outkast, too many hipster coffee places to count,  resting place of the Atlanta Thrashers, but most importantly, Georgia State University.

Ranked 2nd in Innovation by USA Today News & Reports, Georgia State is Georgia's largest university with an enrollment of 53,000 (ish) students and is one of the nation's leading-edge research universities.

I entered Georgia State in the fall of 2016 as a Media Entrepreneurship major. Between this unique major offering, its urban setting, and overall devotion to innovation, diversity, and inclusion, I knew I found my ideal happy place.

iii. Community Service

Through Honors Student Organization (HSO), I have the opportunity to reach beyond Georgia State's campus through volunteer projects within the local Atlanta community. Our main project is cleanups at Oakland Cemetery, Atlanta's secret treasure. It features architecture of the Victorian, Greek Revival, Gothic, Neo-Classical, Egyptian, and Exotic Revival eras, blending historical preservation and education with some ground maintenance!

iv. Athletics

Picture
After a crazy week packed with games and events, it is no wonder why my boss broke out the putt-putt set one Friday afternoon in the Athletics office. I stepped away from my computer, took my shot, and made it! All of a sudden, I hear someone yelling from behind, "Do you play golf?" "I played in high school," I said. Turns out the GSU Women's Golf Team was recruiting players for the next season, and they just so happened to find their next walk-on playing putt-putt in the office two floors above them! Got to love the game of golf!
